How You Can Help

Donate

You Can Donate Online – Our online donation form lets you make a one-time gift donation or you can choose to make monthly installments. We accept online donations made by credit card.

You Can Donate by Mail – send your check to our mailing addresses: VEST 604 Empire Street, Fairfield, CA 94533

Organize a Giving Program in Your Workplace – Find out if your employers have non-profit donation programs that allow you to select the charity of your choice for donations to be made through automatic payroll deductions. Ask if they also have a matching program.

Bequests/Trusts – Another way to give is to consider making a planned donation to VEST in your will or living trust. Bequests can be made in cash, securities, real property or personal property. Alternatively, you can make a contribution from your estate or trust. Your estate will receive a charitable tax deduction for the full value of the donation. Please consult your estate planning counsel to find out how you can give through a bequest or through your trust.

Volunteer

There are many ways you can volunteer to help VEST in our crucial efforts to protect victims and enable them to become empowered enough to build a better life. Helpful hands, needed skills, shared experiences, strength in numbers. As a non-profit organization, we understand that a solid base of volunteers is a crucial asset necessary for us to build a Support Team that will successfully fulfill our Vision and serve the victims of domestic abuse. Read on to see what types of volunteers we need. Then please fill in the form below to be added to our Resource List, so we may be able to call on you when your help is needed.

The work we do is important, and the motto. “Many hands make lighter work,” is very true. Sometimes the help we need may be very basic, such as stuffing envelopes for a mailer. Sometimes it may be timely, such as ensuring a person can get a ride to a doctor’s appointment. In either case, the more volunteers we have on our team to reach out to, the greater our success can be. Complete our Resource List below to let us know you are available to help.

Needed Skills:

Are you talented at creating graphics? Posting on Instagram? Assisting with interpreting Legal Documents? Baking 6 dozen cupcakes at the drop of a hat? Helping coordinate an event with 100 attendees? The work that VEST does could benefit greatly from you donating even a little of your time to help us. Please volunteer to be on our Resource List so we may reach out to you when we need your particular expertise.

Shared Experiences

Much of the work VEST does is only effective when our clients, the victims of abuse, trust that we truly understand their pain and need. This must be authentic and personal. Therefore, VEST must include past abuse victims within its team to carry out the important work we do. Join a peer group. Volunteer to share your experiences with someone going through the challenges you have already dealt with. Join our team. You can be one of our most valuable resources. Please sign up for our Resource List so we can count on you when your experience is needed.

Strength in Numbers

VEST was created to assist victims and reach self-empowerment. In some cases that requires standing up and being counted as supporters of grant/funding requests or even changes in local or state regulations. We encourage you to complete the form below as a “VEST Supporter.” By doing so, you are not obligated to agree with any or all the activities VEST participates in. You decide if you want to opt-in to support that particular effort. This simply lets us contact you about issues where your support could help us. The choice to back any issue or program will always be up to you.
